The newest member of Delta Wires, JoJo Styles joined the band in 2024 following the retirement of long-time guitarist, Richard Healy. Guitarist and vocalist, JoJo Styles grew up in Berkeley, California, and played his first paid gigs at the age of 15 in San Francisco Bay Area clubs having been inspired by the local shows of bands like Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Journey, Sly Stone, and Tower of Power.
At an early age, he began playing Classical and Spanish guitar, while also loving the jazz guitar of Wes Montgomery, the Bossa Nova of Antonio Carlos Jobim, and the Nuevo Flamenco of the Gypsy Kings.
After studying music at UNLV, followed by 2 years of gigs in Las Vegas, JoJo returned home as a professional, playing clubs and showcase gigs all over the San Francisco Bay Area. Through the 80s and 90s, at venues such as The Stone, Uncle Charlies, The Catalyst, Slims, The Berkeley Square, etc., he opened up for bands such as Huey Lewis and the News, Joan Jett, and Cheap Trick.
JoJo has self-produced 5 albums of original music: Mysteries of Love, One Hot Number, Back to Monterey, Light of Love, and The Offering, in the styles of rock, blues, jazz, and bossa/nuevo.
Now, Delta Wires is proud to have JoJo’s virtuosity, skill and energy as our new lead guitarist!
